It’s easy for supporters to donate goods to Community Giving Tree through a new partnership with GivingSomeThing.com. Items purchased from our Needs List are shipped directly to Community Giving Tree and then distributed to low income families in Essex County. Donors decide how their dollars are spent and feel confident that their donations are meeting the needs of local residents.

Volunteer on Saturdays — Youth and Adults

Community service opportunities for youth and adults are available one Saturday each month. Kids under age 13 must be accompanied by a supervising adult. Volunteer at the Giving Center(Directions) to help receive and package donations that will be provided to needy families.

Saturday Donation Drop Off

The cold has finally arrived and many children in Essex County still need your gently used baby gear and children’s winter clothing, coats, and boots. Your donated goods will be delivered to a child’s home within a week.

Drop off your donations at the Giving Center during the following Saturdays:

                  January 14        9:00am – Noon
                  February 11      9:00am – Noon
                   March 17          9:00am – Noon

We are also open for donations during the week:

Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays
9:00am – Noon

The Giving Center is located near Benson’s Ice Cream at 572 Main Street, Boxford (Directions).

2011 Holiday Distribution – A Huge Success!

The spirit of the season could be felt at Community Giving Tree on Saturday, December 3rd during the annual Spirit of Giving Workshop. Shoppers from the West Boxford Holiday Festival stopped by with their donations of new toys, hats, coats, and pajamas in time for the holidays. Children learned how to package toiletries, baby layette items, children’s clothes and gifts.

More volunteers turned out to help with the Holiday Giveaway on Wednesday, December 14. Because of the community’s generous donations of time and gifts, we were able to help almost 100 social service agents bring holiday joy to 770 children. “It’s a great way to give back during the holidays,” says Masconomet senior Sarah Levenson, “It’s nice to know that someone will be happy when they open the gifts that we’ve put together”.

Since September, we have distributed more than 500 coats. Thank you to all our volunteers and donors who helped Essex County families during the Holiday Season.

Tri-Town Transcript chose Community Giving Tree as “Gifts of Hope” Charity

Children from Boxford's Village School collected warm blankets, pajamas, hats and mittens for Community Giving Tree to distrbute to local children in need.

Community Giving Tree was in the spotlight during the Tri-Town Transcript’s December 2011 Gifts of Hope Campaign. Christina Eckert, Public Relations coordinator at Community Giving Tree, contributed a series of articles about the people, donors and recipients, of this fantastic organization.
