Seasonal Collection: Diaper Drive
Collection Period: February, 2012
For low income families, diapers are a large drain on the weekly budget, costing the average American family $1500 per year, according to Procter & Gamble. Diapers cannot be purchased with food stamps, and mothers often adopt a “one diaper a day” rule (read more about an increase in diaper rash as a direct result of the economic downturn here). Cloth diapers are difficult to use because most families living in poverty do not have washers and dryers.
Please consider helping those in need by donating:
- Packages of disposable diapers, any size
(Open packages are OK!) - Wipes
- Diaper Rash Cream
- From our regular collection list
Diapers and wipes will be distributed to mothers-in-need throughout the month of February. Your donations will have a direct and immediate impact on struggling families.
